For over 30 years I've been helping buyers and sellers identify and meet their real estate goals. After personally brokering over 1,000 properties—about $500,000,000 worth of real estate—there is a lot of experience to draw from. As a real estate broker, investor, developer, landlord, and property manager, I have a unique and informed perspective that enables me to identify my client's needs as they relate to their larger real estate picture. I know what is important to my buyers and sellers since I've been the buyer or seller myself over 60 times. With an in-depth understanding of construction and renovation, property management, investment analysis, and landlord-tenant relations, I'm prepared to advise my clients in the management of their greatest assets as their property needs change over the years. It is with this approach, and extensive professional resources, that I address each of my clients' needs. What is the ultimate scenario and how do we get there? To know this, it takes experience. And for that, there is no substitute, especially in real estate.

 

My area of expertise as a real estate broker centers on condominium and single-family home sales in the Boston marketplace—Back Bay, South End, The Fenway, Longwood Medical, Brookline, Newton, and Jamaica Plain.

 

Over 90 percent of my business is either referred from past clients or is repeat business. This is because of my business philosophy: I understand that a client's best interest is in my own best interest. And, if I provide outstanding service, and exceed expectations, then they will refer others and will work with me again in the future. Long-term relationships with my clients have been the secret to my success from the very beginning.

After graduating from the University of Arizona with my bachelor’s degree in English and creative writing, I moved from my home state to Boston to pursue my Master of Arts in Publishing at Emerson College.
 
While attending graduate school, I started working in a local real estate office as a front desk receptionist and quickly advanced to a property management role as I took more interest in the business. After I graduated and gained more experience, I began working with Michael at M. J. Grappo Realty Associates in 2019. Since then, I have continued to increase my abilities and in turn, my responsibilities.
 
Between my publishing degree and Michael’s background in jazz guitar performance, our office shows exactly how people who originally studied the arts use those applicable skills in business and other endeavors to great success. So many of my editorial skills transferred smoothly to real estate. Keeping track of manuscripts in the years-long publishing process turned to managing tenancies from initial application to final move out. Drafting the back jacket copy of a novel to precisely portray the author’s work became writing the language in a lease to be accurate and protect all parties.
 
Our tenants' safety and comfort are my main priorities. Few things have a more significant impact on a person’s daily life than where they call home, and I strive to ensure that residents of our units would recommend renting from our office to any of their loved ones.
 
The same efficiency that keeps our tenants happy—straightforward lease applications, smooth resident turnovers, prompt maintenance, and quick communication—also helps us maintain the integrity of our management clients' investment portfolios. Michael has built a lot of trust with his clients with his approach to business and real estate, and I work on the back end to keep those relationships strong.
